Open My Account → Hosting services in Control Center to check the service and selected website. Payment, hosting creation, DNS connection, and SSL each have their own state.
| Hosting status | Meaning and next step |
|---|---|
| Pending | Setup has not finished. Check the order's payment status and any instructions. |
| Awaiting domain registration | Setup is waiting for confirmation of the new domain in your order. Review domain status and any customer messages. |
| Awaiting nameservers | An older setup state. Current account creation does not wait for DNS; ask support to review an order that remains stuck here. |
| Provisioning | The hosting account is being created. Return to the service page to check progress. |
| Retrying setup | Setup encountered a temporary issue and will retry. You do not need another order. |
| Active | You can use available dashboard tools and Open Virtualmin. Public DNS and SSL may still need setup. |
| Needs attention | Setup could not finish. Contact support with the order number and domain. |
| Suspended | Access or service operation has been restricted. Review billing and contact support for the reason and recovery steps. |
Website connection and SSL #
DNS setup needed means the hosting website exists but its public connection is not yet confirmed. Open DNS & SSL, choose the DNS method, apply the displayed records or nameservers, and run the relevant check.
Connected confirms the saved website DNS-readiness check. It does not prove that the application, mail delivery, or every certificate hostname is working. Test those separately.
For SSL, a queued request needs time to finish. A failure needs its displayed error resolved before retrying. A successful request enables renewal for that certificate; continue checking the actual expiry and coverage.
If progress stops #
- Confirm you are viewing the correct domain and customer account.
- Open the linked order and check whether payment needs action.
- Read the service page and customer order messages for the next required step.
- For connection issues, check the selected DNS method and its next action. You can keep external DNS or use Lucid nameservers.
- If there is no action you can complete, send support the status, order number, and the time you last saw a change.
Do not change nameservers back and forth or purchase another copy of the service while a paid order is under review. Support needs to check the existing operation first.
An Active service can still show a default page until you upload or install a website. HTTPS, application configuration, and email also need their own checks. No status alone promises a particular activation time.
