Use a customer account you control for hosting, domain, and certificate purchases. Keep the account email reachable even if your hosted domain has a problem.
Create the account #
- Open My Account on our website. Use the registration form if it is available, or the account-creation option offered during checkout.
- Enter an email address you can access. For a business, use an address controlled by the business rather than a temporary contractor.
- Choose a unique password or follow the password-setup email if the site sends one.
- Complete any email confirmation requested on the page.
- Sign in and review Account details. Check the email address before making a purchase.
If you already have an account, recover it instead of creating another one for the same services. Purchases linked to different accounts may require an ownership check before support can help consolidate access.
Protect access #
Store the password in a password manager. Use multifactor authentication wherever your account or email provider offers it, and keep recovery codes somewhere secure. Secure the email account itself because password-reset messages go there.
Your website account, Virtualmin, WordPress administration, and mailboxes can use different credentials. Resetting one password does not necessarily change the others. Keep a record of which login belongs to which service.
For a developer or colleague, ask about a separate account with only the access they need. Do not share your main customer login, a Virtualmin sign-in link, or a domain transfer code in a group chat.
Confirm access #
Sign out and sign in again before starting a purchase. If the setup email is missing, check spam and confirm the address you entered. Use password recovery if needed.
