How to manage renewals and payment methods

Track each service's renewal separately. Renewing hosting does not itself renew a domain or replace an expiring certificate.

Review upcoming renewals #

1. Open My Account → Hosting services and note the service ID and Renews or Renew by date. The standard hosting flow uses monthly renewal orders for the same service. If your purchase instead has a separate subscription, follow that subscription's billing controls.
2. Open Domains for domains managed through our website. Review each domain's expiration and obtain a renewal quote when needed.
3. Check certificates separately, including their validation and installation requirements.
4. Keep your account email current and add reminders before the applicable renewal dates.
5. After a renewal, verify the new service period or expiration date in the appropriate service record.

To renew standard hosting, select Renew hosting in the service details. Review the renewal order and complete payment. The action uses the service's existing unpaid renewal order when one is present. Confirm the new renewal date afterward; payment extends the same hosting service and its additional websites rather than creating another server. Keep the service ID and renewal order reference if the date does not update.

The domain management flow uses customer-initiated, paid renewals. Do not assume that a saved card enables automatic hosting payment or domain renewal. Domains and paid certificates have their own purchase and renewal processes.

Update a payment method #

If Payment methods appears in your account, use its available controls to add, remove, or select a method. Available controls depend on the payment provider. For a recurring hosting subscription, open that subscription and check which method it uses; changing an account default may not update an existing subscription.

If you do not see subscription or payment controls, use the instructions in your renewal notice or contact support. Do not place a new hosting order for the same domain as a substitute for renewing the existing service.

If renewal payment fails #

Check the renewal order and payment provider before retrying. Resolve any payment issue and ask support to confirm the service's state if it was suspended. Exact grace periods, retry schedules, and restoration terms depend on the service and current policy.

If a domain has already expired, check the domain recovery process before paying a standard renewal quote. Recovery options can change with the registry state.
