Add another website in the Control Center

Add a separate website to an existing hosting service when its plan has capacity. The website shares the service's hosting login, renewal, storage, and account limits. You need control of its domain's DNS; this process does not register a domain, move existing content, or transfer email.

Start the website request #

1. Open My Account → Hosting services in the Control Center and choose your active, paid service.
2. Review Websites and its allowance. The original website and sites added through Virtualmin count toward the service limits; aliases can consume domain slots too.
3. Expand Add a website. Enter the complete domain in Domain name, without a URL path, and select Continue. Some plans allow only subdomains of the original domain.

Verify control through DNS #

4. On Verify your domain, copy the displayed Full record name and Value.
5. At the domain's current authoritative DNS provider, add a TXT record with those details. For example.com, the full name is _lucid-hosting-verify.example.com. A provider that appends example.com needs only _lucid-hosting-verify in its name field. For shop.example.com within the example.com zone, use _lucid-hosting-verify.shop instead. Avoid appending the domain twice.
6. Use the exact generated value from your request and select TTL Auto or 3600. Leave existing website and email records intact, and keep your current nameservers during this step.
7. Return to the request and choose Verify & create website. Wait for confirmation before making another request. Verification expires after seven days; use Cancel verification and add the domain again if it expires.

Connect and check the new website #

After creation, open Manage website and complete its DNS setup. Keep your external provider and publish the supplied website records, or choose Lucid nameservers and complete delegation checks. You can remove the verification TXT record after successful verification. Configure SSL once website DNS is ready.

Upload content to the new website's document root, then test the intended address. Additional websites are Virtualmin sub-servers under the existing owner, not isolated hosting accounts. Virtualmin server types

Troubleshooting #

If the TXT record is missing, check the full public name, copied value, and authoritative provider. If setup is pending, use Refresh status or Check setup status when offered. For an unverified allowance, unavailable slots, or an already configured domain, contact support. Do not buy another service to retry the same request.
