How to add and remove DNS records in the Control Center

The hosting DNS & SSL page manages supported records in a verified local zone using Lucid nameservers. It is separate from registrar controls under My Account > Domains. Registering a domain here or choosing Lucid DNS does not alone confirm delegation or enable editing.

Open the correct zone #

1. In the Control Center, select the hosting service and website, then open DNS & SSL. You can also use Hosting services > Manage website to reach website tools.
2. Confirm the domain shown at the top. Review Records configured in Virtualmin and save the current values before changing anything.
3. Check whether editing is enabled. External, non-local, shared-parent, or unverified zones remain read-only here. Manage external DNS at its provider; the displayed server records are not proof of its public records.

Add a record #

1. Expand Add a DNS record and choose A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, or TXT.
2. Enter Name (relative to this domain). Use @ for the root or a relative name such as www; do not append the full domain.
3. Enter Value using the type's format. A and AAAA require the corresponding IP address. CNAME requires a different hostname and is not supported at @. MX uses priority plus destination, such as 10 mail.example.com–an example, not a value to copy. TXT must be plain text without surrounding quotes or backslashes.
4. Check the confirmation box and select Add record. The zone's default TTL applies; there is no per-record TTL field here.

Remove or replace a record #

1. Find the exact name, type, and value. Expand its Remove action.
2. Check the confirmation box, then choose Confirm removal.
3. To replace it, add the intended new record afterward. This creates a possible gap; arrange support help for a change that cannot tolerate interruption. There is no inline edit action.

Verify the result: Reload the list, review the saved records, and recheck DNS setup. DNS edits reset the saved readiness check without revoking an issued certificate. Public answers can remain cached; see DNS TTL guidance.

If a change is blocked: NS, SOA, DNSSEC, and setup-verification records are protected. Duplicate values, conflicting CNAMEs, duplicate SPF/DMARC policies, and ambiguous removals require correction or support review. If the page changed while open, reload and review it before resubmitting. If a result is unconfirmed, inspect the current records before retrying.
