Read the current message before repeating a dashboard action. A missing permission, expired sign-in, stale display, and an unconfirmed server operation need different responses.
Start with the service and website #
- Confirm you are signed in to the customer account that owns the service.
- Select the intended hosting service and website. Check the service ID and domain rather than relying on a saved tab from another site.
- Review payment, renewal, and hosting status. An overdue, suspended, or unfinished service can restrict management actions.
- Refresh the page, or use Refresh details where offered. For an expired security/session message, sign in again and open a fresh form from the service page.
- Read the specific tool's requirements. Database creation, mailbox creation, DNS editing, and PHP changes depend on enabled features and permissions.
Match the symptom to the next step #
| Symptom | Next step |
|---|---|
| DNS records are read-only | Check your DNS method. Manage external DNS at its provider; dashboard writes require a verified Lucid-delegated local zone. |
| SSL request is unavailable | Complete website DNS verification, check service renewal, and allow an existing request or request cooldown to finish. |
| WordPress has no install or update button | Use Virtualmin or WordPress for those tasks; the dashboard lists tracked applications. |
| Backups has no schedule or restore button | Read its availability notice and contact support about recovery options. |
| One-click login fails | Use the Control Panel link and confirmed hosting credentials under hosting access, if available. |
| A create or change action has an uncertain result | Refresh the relevant inventory and ask support to check the original request before resubmitting. |
Verify recovery #
After an action reports success, confirm the expected result in the relevant list or settings page. For DNS, also check public resolution. For a mailbox, test a login and actual mail delivery. A refreshed overview alone does not verify every service.
If the problem persists, include the service ID, website, exact action, displayed message, time and time zone, and any recent changes in your support request. Remove passwords, temporary login links, and other secrets from screenshots.
